Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
HPC provides non-destructive testing (NDT), materials testing and welding services for a diverse range of industries
We help you ensure the reliability and safety of your products, equipment or plant assets with our world-class services in non-destructive testing (NDT),materials testing and welding quality. We understand the processes involved throughout the entire product cycle – from design and manufacture to operation and maintenance – and the frequent need for rapid turnaround times. Our services can support production processes, quality control, and regulatory compliance as well as new construction, pipelines, plant maintenance and scheduled shutdown inspection. Our vast expertise and knowledge in NDT and materials testing means we can select the right techniques and procedures to detect defects and irregularities in your products, equipment, production facilities or plant assets and provide you with necessary data to assist you in making informed decisions. Miqias can help you avoid the potential for catastrophic consequences and financial losses with early detection of problems before they cause damage, operating inefficiencies or in-service failure.
We have the capability to perform NDT for pipe line, tanks, pressure vessels & boilers in accordance with ASME, AWS, API, AISC & other known international codes.

Ultrasonic Testing (UT) :
Ultrasonic Inspection is a very useful and versatile NDT method. It is sensitive to both surface and subsurface discontinuities. It has other uses, such as thickness measurement, in addition to flaw detection.
Magnetic Particle Testing (MT):
For detection of surface and near-surface flaws in ferromagnetic material, Magnetic Particle Testing or MPT is used. Hand-held prods, flexible cables, electromagnet or a permanent magnet is used to apply a magnetic field to the specimen, which is local or overall.
Dye Penetrant Testing (PT):
liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) also called Dye penetrant inspection (DPI), or penetrant testing (PT), is a widely applied and low-cost inspection method used to locate surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials (metals, plastics, or ceramics).
Radiographic testing (RT):
Radiographic test is used for inspection of a wide variety of material types with varying density, ability to inspect assembled components, minimum surface preparation required, sensitivity to changes in thickness corrosion, voids, cracks and material density changes, the ability to detect both surface and subsurface defects and the ability to provide a permanent record of the inspection
Miqias supplies a complete line of radiographic services for both shop and field applications. Our staff of qualified, certified, professional radiographers operate within strict safety parameters and produce high quality radiographs that allow us to utilize our interpretation skills honed through many years of experience to determine if an anomaly is actually a defect or can be accepted per code requirements.
Positive Material Identification (PMI):
PMI, the analysis of a metallic alloy to establish composition by reading the quantities by percentage of its constituent elements. Temperature is often the first and easiest-to-find indication of a developing problem and can be quickly used as a screening technique for situations that will benefit from further analysis.
Handheld X-ray fluorescent (XRF) analyzers have the capability to quantify or qualify nearly any element from Magnesium to Uranium, depending on specific instrument configurations.
Portable XRF spectrometers allow you to take the battery operated analyzer to the sample rather than bringing the sample into the lab. This is especially useful when the test specimen is large or heavy. Contact our applications team to learn how XRF can help solve your material identification needs.
Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)(TOFD):
Miqias is the first company in whole Iraq who can provide PAUT test
Phased array ultrasonics (PA) is an advanced method of ultrasonic testing that has applications in medical imaging and industrial nondestructive testing. Common applications are to non invasively examine the heart or to find flaws in manufactured materials such as welds. Single-element (non-phased array) probes, known technically as monolithic probes, emit a beam in a fixed direction. To test or interrogate a large volume of material, a conventional probe must be physically scanned (moved or turned) to sweep the beam through the area of interest. In contrast, the beam from a phased array probe can be focused and swept electronically without moving the probe. The beam is controllable because a phased array probe is made up of multiple small elements, each of which can be pulsed individually at a computer-calculated timing. The term phased refers to the timing, and the term array refers to the multiple elements. Phased array ultrasonic testing is based on principles of wave physics, which also have applications in fields such as optics and electro magnetic antennae.
Ultrasonic Thickness Test (UTG):
Miqias makes use of this NDT technique in a professional way in situations where an inspector has access to only one side of a part whose thickness must be determined, such as the case of a pipe or tube, or where simple mechanical measurement is impossible or impractical for other reasons such as part size or access limitations.
